85 Honda dash lights

My 85 Honda Accord has no instrument lights. The wiring diagram shows the control pot is connected to a box called Dash Light Control which connects to the dash lights but no indication where it might be. anybody know where it is? I'm pretty sure that's where the problem is because all other lights work and the control pot is OK but has no voltage going to it. I hope it's not buried up under the dash.

The box on the dash that dims the dash lights is the problem.
Pull it from the dash, (held in by spring clips, just get a small screwdriver on one side and pry it out) and remove the wire harness plugged in the back. Should be a three wire plug. One wire is live and then just jump to one of the others until the lights come on. It has been about ten years since I've seen one so I can't remember the colors, SORRY!
If you need to know anything else, let me know, (25 years working on Hondas)
Dave
P.S. you will not be able to dim the dash lights but they will be on

Unfortunately none of the wires is live.

SORRY!!!!
Should have said one would be live when the lights are on.
My how I forget the little things as I get older!

Now you can give me lashes.
Hope this helps

I knew that the lights had to be on. None of the three wires going to the dimmer control is hot when the lights are on. Jumping those has no effect I also tried jumping various known good 12v and ground wires to the control line.

I found the box hanging off the fuse block. Disconnected it and grounded the output line to the lights. Now they work.
