Only 8 more hours of work, then 3 weeks vacation,
then I'm retired!I'll work 3 days/week 4AM-9AM (4 day
weekends).
Kind of like getting ready for Summer vacation.
Maybe I can finish one of my car projects.

Congradulations Doug!
I`v been retired going on three years come next Feburary, I absolutely LOVE IT! I highly recomend retirement. Stay occupied, spend a little extra time with your wife too, she will love it. When she starts giving you honey do`s it means your spending too much time "In her way" Hahahahahaha
In all seriousness, I wish you the best of retirement.
Kerry

Kerry,

Thank you!As "they" say - "certainly 34 years must
count for SOMETHING".

That is excellent! Congrats!

I'm starting to *think* about it.
I had dinner with a retired pal last week and he said he's busier than ever, but with "fun" stuff.
Sounds good to me!

Fantastic, Doug. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

I'm only a bit jealous. Like Nial, I'm starting to *think* about it too, as in "in about 26 years I'll be able to retire, maybe." /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Congratulations Doug and like Kerry said make sure you keep busy /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banana.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banana.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif

I've decided that I probably need to work on the
projects that I already have - '60 Anglia,'64 Ford -
-Corsair GT,'67 Cortina GT,the '78 Triumph Bonneville,
& get the Daughter's car engine replaced ('99 Saturn).
But then there's a '72 Midget in Oregon on craigslist,
a Stag,a TR8,& a nice GT6+ on there too.Somebody stop me!
Thanks everyone, for your too kind words.

- Doug

Why no 1972 Midgets on my side of the country? If I hear about one more 72 Midget.......Congrats on the retirement.

CONGRATS!! So, you movin' South soon?

Congrats!!

In a few short months, you'll be scratching your head wondering where you ever found the time to work for
a living.

It's a good thing.

Tony,

Maybe down the road. There's lots to be done first.
The hard part will be if we move, how will we get all of the cars moved?I'll also have to clear out a lot of extra parts.
- How many non-working generators do I really need?Do I
really need 6 Cortina 1500/1600 core motors (+ the one
running 1600)?
My Wife & I have lived here all of our lives,& it's hard to leave. And our Daughter might be moving to Spokane,Washington (taking Lilly, our Granddaughter, with her).We could end up in Washington, also.

hehehehehe....I can tell you stories!! Trip after trip after trip - 1 car at a time - behind my Sonoma from Kansas to Alabama......lots of parts in the truck each trip; parts in boxes for movers.....but, sadly, lots of parts in the trash.

No way, Doug. Now that you're retired, you can take on all sorts of projects. Allows those of us on the other end of retirement to live vicariously through you.

Drew,

Naw,I think you just want someone to compare to
when you want to get another car - "We'll just have x
number of cars.Doug has 12 cars,so it's no big deal".
