8.5"s of white fluffy stuff...

All that moisture feeding that sucker from the gulf is making it worse than what hit us. Nasty sucker.

We just came off a stretch of -30 Celcius here in Alberta (plus nasty windchills) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif Plus a little snow mixed in... That's the kind of temperature where you need to plug in your vehicle if you want it to start in the morning, that is if you even feel like getting up to go to work in the morning /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Just all part of an Alberta winter... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/savewave.gif

This photo taken with an air temperature of about -15 Celcius, and after half an hour that felt cold enough /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

And be thankful you aren't in Pacific Northwest or British Columbia on the west coast... They are getting socked in real bad with lots of snow and massive power outages

"They" are talking possibilities of 20+ inches of snow north of STL. Hmmm, last time I looked, Michigan was N of STL...

About 3/8" of ice on the car this morning, and still raining. No snow yet!
Jeff

Almost 5am...33* and nothing but rain here....supposed to turn to snow later this morning.

I do NOT miss that at all. Jack's right. Garage door wide open, pre-dawn temp is around 70F. T-shirt, flip-flops and in concession to the 'lower' temp a pair of pants instead of shorts... and hurricane season officially ended yesterday.

All's right in my world./ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Was in McAllen, Texas yesterday morning and the temp dropped from 79F to 59F in less than 20 minutes - windy as could be, too. Drove the distance home to Houston and watched the temp steadily drop to the 30's by the time I got home (around 4:30 pm).

Bring back the heat! I'm climatized now and don't care for the cold anymore!

I'm with you Doc, 65 here as well and overcast.

A big SWING and a MISS last night by Mother Nature....just now beginning to snow with expected accumulations of 2" to 4". Blowing and drifting is my concern now!

But would you mind just keeping your back door closed next time? We were quite happy down here, thank you, with southerly winds keeping above normal and driving our LBC's! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well, it got cool down here - high 30's....but, as usual, everybody panicked & stocked up on food & essentials believing all the hype coming off the tube!

Tony was ready, he stocked up on car parts. hehe.

Missed us in the metro area BIG TIME. I may have an inch of snow, but it's closer to half inch. Ice everywhere, can't get in my Solara (the Bs are accessible, well one is, other doesn't have an engine in her) Limbs down, power outages all around the metro Lou, half million AmerenUE customers without electricity. But could have been a foot of snow here.

On the otherhand, where Chuck is, rural Eldon MO (between Jeff City and Osage Beach off Hwy 54) they have 14-15" of snow and highways closed all around. Not expecting to see him for a few more days yet.

We had a couple of highway closures due to accidents caused by folks driving with their heads up their arse....but I had SMOOTH sailing coming into town this morning. (I did put the Pathfinder in FWD at a couple of stoplights that had not yet been sanded.)

We are getting hammered. I made it in to work, but the office is officially closed today. I'll be heading home soon, don't have the snows on the Bimmer yet, so the drive in was interesting. I have BF Goodrich Traction T/A all round, and they are the best all-season radial that I have ever driven in snow, bar none. I had an easier drive than some people I saw driving front-wheel drives, and even one 4X4 pickup was having trouble. It's more down to technique than anything in snow, but the right rubber helps.

I'm defrosting the freezer compartment in the Garage Beer Unit ATM. That's as close as I wanna get to seein' ICE anyplace.

James' photo of that porch railing had me runnin' for a pair of SOCKS!

*sheesh*

I am looking at about a foot of snow outside my window right now. And it's still coming down. What burns me is that I'm also watching the midmorning news (its 11:15 am here right now) and it looks just fine in downtown Chicago, and other areas sorta close to me. Roads clear and moving, light flurries. But I still can't see the end of the parking lot here.

I managed to get my car moving all right, despite the berm plowed up behind the car, but couldn't get out of the apt. parking lot-its a pretty sharp uphill to the road, and watching a couple of other cars fail to climb it made me turn around and park in one of the spots that had been cleared already. I don't get paid enough to get stuck in a snowdrift or hurt driving to work. (problem is I have a ton of work to do cause I was out sick on Monday as well)

I just wish it would stop snowing already so the roads could clear up a bit!

I went driving today, Jack:

Still rain here, with occasional snowflakes. I think we may dodge the bullet this time. But, I saw salt trucks this morning, so that officially ends the LBC season for me. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Yahooooooo!

Looks like the snow definitely going to miss us according to the radar screen. Appears to be heading for the Great Lakes, Canada, and upper Maine. Sunny skies for tomorrow and Sunday although chilly might be a partial top up kind of a day.

From here it looks like it is right off the showroom floor Tony.

That should turn heads for sure. The top looks excellent on it. Good choice.
