OK, don't shoot the newbie, but...I am rying to reqire the midget with all new wiring. The old stuff is a mess and I know it will be more work and headache in the immediate future but I want a better system overall. Went to Moss and I can't seem to figure out what I need. Is there a main, rear, dash...etc. harness or what?? Also, waht else should I be looking for if I am going to do the whole rewiring..?

yes - there is three- one behind the dash - one under the hood and one all the way back.

I know Britishwiring.com also sell them justbrits.com also I think. Of course Tony too. If you haven't taken them apart yet (and I wouldn't till you have the replacement) the front attaches to the middle with a plug under the dash to by the drivers door and the rear attaches by the passenger door also with a plug, also under the dash

cheers

Along with new harnesses, check your switches and factor in which ones needs replacing. Might get away with keeping your original fuse box, but they're not very expensive. Check your pig tails to the exterior lights. Get some extra connectors.

Hopefully you've still got the original harness in the car. Take photos, make drawings of what you've got. Find the wiring diagram and legend for your car. You should have something like a blueprint shop in your area. Have them make a blow up copy of both and laminate them. That way you can use colored markers and trace circuits. Look at where the harness ground wires are fastened to the body. You'll want to clean those areas up so that there's good contact surface to make a good ground.

I got the wiring diagram from Properos garage off ebay. It's nicely laminated..

also check to see what grommets you need and this would also be a good time to get some relays

Oh, and I do not believe that the Moss catalogue is accurate about how many grommets you will need. eg

https://mossmotors.com/Shop/ViewProducts.aspx?PlateIndexID=29312&SortOrder=14 part 682-095 says you need one - you need 2 - one for each side - not sure if they are included with the harness

Sounds like a good time to put in a nice set of H4s... Hmm, and maybe some fogs... And oh, might as well put in some decent stereo wiring while you're in there. Speakers in the footwells. Bluetooth. Airhorns. Hidden radar detector.

Hey, this is fun! How many suggestions were you looking for?

When I replaced the harness in my B, while taking out the old one, I sniped the wire at it's connection maybe one inch back. That way, I could see what color wire went to that connection. Helped immensly during the installation of the new harness.

And yes, Check british wrining. Good product at a good price. I bought by my MGB harness and bugeye harness from them.

I second the opinion on British wiring. Installing all new wiring in my BE right now. Take pictures of how the existing harness is routed.
