Ran into a mechanic who told me the MGs needed some il in the old carb ..could be added to the top of it. Is this real??

Yep - tiny black cap in the top of the dashpot...you have a Zenith Stromberg carb so add auto transmission fluid....there's a little hole in the side of the neck where it'll run out if you overfill.

Yep - you have a white knob....but you do not have an SU - you have a Zenith Stromberg! Everything's different - you need an owner's manual to explain what goes in there & how to measure piston action...its totally different from SU's!

Thanks!

Fill the air valve guide rod to about 0.25" of the top with damper lube.To do this, unscrew the cap and remove the damper rod assy. Then refit when finished.
