79 Midget Fuel Pump location??

Guys,

the car is painted and almost done!! I spent a Saturday working with the restorers to put my baby back together. She needs a little bit of touch up but the engine no longer stays running. AS lng as we hit it with Thrust into the air filter it runs. It appears the fuel pump may be bad. The car guy can't seem to find it. Then he just has to touch up some paint. It's a very dark blue (Sapphire blue) and looks almost black. Why did I help you ask when he is making a ton of money to restore it? Well, he went way above and beyond what he quoted and I want to learn. I am volunteering free work there over the summer to learn some more technical applciations to restoring cars. Anyway, where is the fuel pump on a 1979 Midget (1500 size engine)?? I need help!! I'd like to get her back this weekend. You can see pics here..
(She's dusty here, but will be shiny when she comes out!)

Hi Jokr,

the 1500 has a mechanical fuel pump. It's located right beside the engine, on the driver side, about halfway down the block, toward the rear of the block. The top of it is usually anodized.

Best,
Duncan

Many have been fitted with an electric fuel pump also. My mechanical pump isn't even hooked up. If it does have an electrical pump it will be under the car just forward and left of the back right tire.

Thank you guys....
