789 Chevy

A friend emailed this to me today. All I can say is,
"I Want":

1957, 1958 & 1959 All Rolled Into One!

This car was built by N2A motors (No Two Alike).
Unbelievable! The company is planning a production run
Of about 100 vehicles.. It sits on a Corvette C6 chassis,
Front styled like a 57 Chevy, side like a 58, rear like a 59. Hence the designation "789."

I think that would be the best way to get a unique car.

Let me take a wild guess at the retail sales price of that car: Maybe $150,000??

Months and months of highly detailed, highly skilled work. Pure artistry, whether you like the looks of the car or not (not my cuppa tea, but I truly admire the work).

I know the builder's name: Maestro!

I've never been a big fan of custom hot rods, but I just find this car stunning and unique! It is obvious a lot of thought and effort went into this creation.

Then again, I was attracted to the styling of the a new Chevy cargo van I just bought

For me, a neat option is to use a live axle 'Vette body on a C4. I've seen pictures of a C1 body on an IRS 'Vette...very keen (but I can't find any photos of these right now)

Here's a C2 "replica" body on a C4.

They're actually C1 replicas (C2's were 63-67) on C5 convertible platforms (99-04). Saw them on display at Corvettes at Carlisle, and thought they looked great "in the flesh". They're surprisingly alot wider than the originals but it comes off very well (a very aggressive look).

I have always absolutely hated the rear design of the 59 Chevy and the 60 for that matter. But, it seems to work in this case.

Imvho, the 59 "wings" overpower the rest of the car. Extend the natural "line" that starts at the 57 headlight, goes back past the door mirror and through the door back to the taillights. This would create a smooth, sleek cohesive line that would still retain the distinct 59 tail lights and be keeping with the 789 concept. I would order one built like that....

567 wouldn't be bad either and the arguement would finally be solved.
It appears allot of C4's are being used that way and I can't say that it bothers me.

I'd love a 57 a 58 or a 59.. Beautiful work they've done. I hope they do well. But I think I'd keep mine seperate, and stock.
Why is the hot rod/custom world so bent on giant, gaudy rims with black rubber bands wrapped around them? What ever happened to some matching or contrasting color painted steelies with classic "Baby moons"?
