Hey guys

Anyone with experience on the midget hsndbrake. Mine is not working and thought to ask before i go and investigate.

No hold to it at all and ratchet is just very loose and flappy.

This is quite common. get the rear wheels off the ground, adjust the brakes drum until they are on - then turn the adjuster (which is square) until the wheels just turn. This should be all you need for the handbrake to work.

Great, I actually thought there would be something else wrong as there isno ratchet at all, its as if the handbrake lever is not connected.

Will check it out over the xmas break.

I may be that it has slipped out - mine actually did this summer and I am waiting for motivation to fix it. I have asked Santa for motivation for Xmas - will have to see if it is under the tree (and will post pics) :D
 
Yea i lost my motivation just after I purchased it, had it a year now snd its just been under cover on trickle charge.

FAmily bereavements and dealing with the afters etc took the joy away, but same as yourseld JP I hope to hsve it back over the holidays 👌
 
it is easy enough, turn around and six months have passed. Good luck finding that motivation

Yip sure is. I have it now, so i am rearing to go to get the car ready for summer.

Ive rebuilt the carbs, so they are ready to go on, small things like renewing the seat webbing, brakes, stainless steel exhaust, took out the rear muffler to make it straight, fluid change, rad, wpump, thermo stat, rocker cover change will all be done, contemplating on changing to electronic ign and going bumperless, so excited abt the changes.
