77 RB Engine Mount Problem

It seems things never go the way I want them to. I got the drivers side mount loose without any problems. I already had the steering rack out of the way so getting to the 9/16 nut was easy enough. Nut came off no problem. Then I moved to the passenger side and the trouble started. The nut on that mount refuses to break loose and to make things worse the mount is tearing loose from the mounting plate. At this point it seems my only options are to take the trusty sawzall and either cut through the rubber part of the mount or it looks like I could possibly take the sawzall and cut off the end of the stud with the nut on it. I already have the cross member off for painting so I have a little extra clearence in the area. Am I on the right track or do some of you guys have am better idea. All opinions welcome.

Regards John

A nut splitter might work. Various auto stores have them. That's usually what I use. PJ
