Back in 2000 my dad and I bought a 77 MGB and took it on a 3000 mile road trip. It was a lot of fun and the car handled it well, but wasn't cared for much after that. I just got it registered for the first time in 4 years. It needs a lot of work still and here is my wish list mods/restores as current.
1. Door panels
2. Seats
3. Dash
4. engine transplant (150 hp)
5. tranny w/ more interstate worthy gearing
6. All new suspension bushing

Unless you have already addressed it #1 on my list would be brakes. The rear cylinders tend to sieze and you will still have a pedel but not full braking.Flex lines (and more) probably also need to be replaced if its been sitting 4 years and no care before that. What do you have in mind for a engine swap? Welcome to the Forum! Bob

Yep, I'd flip that list upsode down & do as Bob says & get a solid roadworthy platform before the 'showy' stuff.

Thanks for the advise. When you redo the breaks do you replace parts with factory, aftermarket or donors from a another car?

I haven't done enough research to nail the engine/tranny down. Right now I'm looking at the ford 2.9L V6. Any suggestions? Known kits?
