Which set of carbs is best to use for the dual carb conversion. the SU HIF4 or the SU HS4? I have access to both types but I have no experience with them so I don't know which set would be easier to work with.

Regards John

Personal opinion here, but the HS4's are as simple a setup as is possible.

The HIF's are a compromise to emissions and a bugger to work with in comparison.

I'd stick to th' "KISS" rule.

On the '77 with its brake booster, the HS4's might be a tight squeeze...I use HIF4's on cars with the booster.

Either way, though, you'll need great motor/transmission mounts & a set of the K&N cone filters....they're the best filters for clearing the booster & providing max air flow.

& the new motor/transmission mounts ensure that rear fuel bowl on the HS4 doesn't get broken by hitting the booster.
