To bribe me to return my husband(British car hater) bought me another Midget.......YELLOW!! 77 so far he has broke my ignition switch and my little " <u>bumble bee</u> " won't go over 50. It has a sweet spot on the accelerator which allows accelleration to 50 but floor it an fizzel......has a manuel choke and <font color="yellow"> </font> <font color="yellow"> </font> blinkers and wipers work. Screw driver is current key but am ordering harness. Plugs were fouled and tightened distributor still 35 rpms-50. Clutch needed adjusting and second grinds if I'm not careful.........Carb may be junk-haven't hadtime to examine too much-it's the 12 mosquito is the 15. Where are you going to start with this one Randi?
I'd strip it, get busy with the motor and 2nd gear synch while someone else blasts and primes it!

A notorious 1500 problem that can cause those symptoms is a torn/leaking carb piston diaphram. And, yes, your carb is junk. But Hey, that is part of the 1500's charm!

And the lines to the carbs, they may be full of junk.
 
Well it looks really pretty good! I'm ordering switch & harness -think carb is junk but this is not the 1500 -that has weber and tops out at 95 or so-lines are good-pressure checked fuel pump,but on uncommon ground so Lbs pressure? and why the heck when I floor it does it go slower than the sweet spot mid way?? Maggie is the next to get full treatment Baz-bumble and mosquito are for reg transport and FUN!! Randi
