I'm not sure if my vent tubes on the carb are correct, from the left fender looking down at the carb, closest to the manifold there is a small tube, maybe a 1/8 dia. in the center of the carb behind and below the dash pot top, is this supposed to lead to the vacume advance on the dist.? Oh I just remembered, the other line goes to the EGR valve on my car. So, I have 1 line leaving the back of the ZS, that splits into 2 lines: 1 goes to the vacuum advance, and the other goes to the EGR.
Whether or not that's the "proper" way for it to be, I don't know. But I do know that it got me through Cali emissions, and my HC emissions were well within the "limit".

Nunyas, Thanks for the info, here's another question. It seems I had my vacume advance hooked to the exhaust manifold via a small port tube, is this wrong? The car seems to run well, haven't been able to get her out since I hooked the vacume advance to carb port. Thanks Mack

The hose to the EGR valve on my car goes to the vacuum line at the back of the ZS carb nothing else is shared with it.
The vacuum line coming off of the intake manifold has a “T” on it. From the T it goes to the Gulp Valve and the 4th gear vacuum advance valve mounted on the brake/clutch box (just to the right off camera) from the 4th gear switch the hose goes to the vacuum advance hookup on the distributor. However many folks don’t use the 4th gear switch or have removed it. If your 4th gear vacuum switch is missing just run the hose to the distributor.
Sidebar: Keep in mind if you don’t have a 4th gear switch – that you need to remove & plug the vacuum advance line when setting your timing or are having the vehicle smog tested. But you still want keep the vacuum line going to your gulp valve.
Here is a pic that might help with the vacuum lines routing.
