can't seem to find reverse in my newly purchased Midget. shift will lift and move right but will not engage reverse when pushed up next to 4th gear.suggestions please...

reverse is next to 3rd gear. try shifting into first then neutral, then lift up, push right and slide up into reverse.

Umm, Mark, I have a point to add ... actually, I am currently using a former Spitfire tranny which has reverse top right, next to third. However, the old tranny, which I can not attest to be the original, had Reverse next to 4th ... but the solution is to try next to third, as that is likely the correct location.
