TR6 '74 TR6 - J type OD trans

Just received my rebuilt J type OD trans (converting from standard 4 speed). Noticed that it does not have a support arm that bolted on the right side of the shifter. The old support arm attached through the rear support bracket. Even if there was a bracket, with the different mounting of the trans to the bracket, there is no place to secure an arm unless a hole was drilled.
My question: Is there a support arm? I don't see it in the parts diagram. Is one needed?
Thx,
Will

I believe there should be. Is there no way to attach it like this:

I happened to have the shop manual handy and found this. Maybe it came from an early car…?

Obviously that’s a non-OD transmission but if it was worth while adding it they would do it for both options probably wouldn’t they?

Thanks Charlie. Yep, the bottom pic is exactly what came out. For the OD trans (first pic), I don't have the small brace that goes from the shifter. Supplier says the brace isn't needed (and is unavailable). Moss shows nothing. Just seems like the rear mounting on the four speed is sturdier.

For those interested:
Did some more research on the brace bar. They were installed to prevent cracking of the shifter cradle arm (cast) if someone was too aggressive in shifting/racing. They are hard to find but doesn't appear too difficult to fabricate except for the twist). The 4 speed bolts to the rear mount. The Jtype OD bolts to itself under tfe shifter as shown in Charlie’s pic.

Confirming the accuracy of the photo. That is what the one in my '72 TR6 with J-type OD looks like. When I worked at GT Jaguar, we would reinforce the shifter castings for competition applications. They did break in vigorous use. The bracket is simple to make, and I would highly recommend buying some flat stock at the local hardware store and making one up. You may also find one at Team Triumph in Warren, Ohio. They have been very good to work with over the years.
