I know that I've read that the ring gear is often put on backwards because of habit and the change of starter from the TR250/early TR6. What is the proper orientation....mitered edge of tooth toward or away from starter? Logic tells me towards but I ound mine facing away.

Steve, mitered edge toward starter. I have seen more than one from the factory the other way round and I know it's so because I have been working on these since they were new. Now you know way I gave it up, except on mine. Wayne
