TR6 74 TR6 Engine Bay repainting

There was an artical from a couple years back from a guy in Puerto Rico detailing the process he followed (with pictures) of how to repaint your engine bay with the engine still in place. I've been searching for a couple days and can't find, does anyone recall this? Can't recall his name, but incredibly entertaining with detailed descriptions of what he went through to get his TR6 running in a remote area.

Entertaining, absolutely Yes it was Tinster, does anyone know how to get at his archives? Is he still a member?

Use the advanced search and put Tinster in display name. He has over 7000 posts though, might want key words also.

I know Dale (Tinster) did a lot on his car, but I was thinking he never did any body painting. I might be wrong though, as I often am.

I used a lot of Dale's (Tinster's) articles too. His article on rebuilding the suspension was outstanding. He was recently banned from the forum. Hopefully you will be able to access some of his stuff in the archives.

you just got to get in there and do it, pull everything out that you can and cover the engine up well

not too much magic, It might be easier to pull the master and clutch cylinder, and tape the wiring harness up

I have the engine out and was replacing the wiring harness, so mine was easier, but I also welded up all the holes that previous owner drilled and I stripped it all down to bare metal, but then my engine and transmission wont be finished til April

The perfect example of a "while I'm in there" situation. Nice job Tom!

Tom That had to take alot of time to remove all the paint, but it sure looks good now.

. He was recently banned from the forum. Kevin

You sure about that? He poped in not that long ago and said he was spending time somewhere else. Unless something happened...

It happened again and it's probably better to leave well enough alone on a personal subject like that.

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming.....
