Does anyone know the original color of a 72 "B" jack. I have two and one is black and one is an odd shade of blue. They both appear to have original paint on them. Did BL paint one Tudor blue? PJ /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

& they alos painted one Red

OK, now that's three colors. Thanks Tony. I need a 72 color if there was such a thing. They might have just thrown what ever they had in the box in the trunk when the car came off the line and never paid much attention to color.

According to Anders Clausager's book, the blue jack is a correct factory item, but was not in cars prior to May 1973. The black Metallifacture jack is from later models still. The period-correct jack for your car would have been made by King Dick and painted red.

Keep in mind that the blue jacks were better and stronger than the red ones. Maybe keep the blue or black one in the car, and get a red one for car shows?

Thanks Steve for the info. Is the King Dick jack cylindrical in shape? I have two jacks that have a rectangular shaft, one blue and one black. I have a third jack buried in a pile of goodies somewhere. I hope it's the right one. PJ
