I am starting to put my wiring harness in, got the OD,turn signal and light switchs on the column and run the wires thru. I pulled the hazzard switch out took it apart to clean and it appears someone has been in to it before, I think there is something missing, because when I flip the switch the dumb bell looking thing that makes contact doesnt move. Any one have an extra one for sale? its the 4 prong one

thanks
Hondo

71 or Older. Easier to bed Lady Gaga then get a nother of that style

The switch would be more desirable.

Try calling Scott Harper at Team Triumph in Warren,OH. (330)392-7176

Hondo, try cleaning it with carb cleaner. They had a grease in them that turns hard over the years. Does it have the little spring with the half round stream that rides on the dumbbell??
The later model is about a 1/8 inch wider, so you have to cut the dash and metal back plate. You will also find the early one has small slide on connectors and the later has larger ones. I just made up wires to plug into the old connector just in case I found an old switch, which I did four years later.

I will look to see if I have one, you have been here, so you know the wife might not ever find me when I go in there looking.

Wayne, it does have the small dumbell and I cleaned it, and the only other part is a half round plastic part that fits between the dumbell ends and a spring on top with a demple to fit the switch. Is there any other parts in there, looks like its suppose to roll the dumbell back and forth to make the contact but is doesnt appear to want to move
Hondo

Hondo, just a thought, someone may have put the later dumbbell in, which is too large. If it doesn't move freely back and forth, sand down the edges a bit, as it sounds like you have all the parts. I do think I know where the smaller dumbbell is, out of one I couldn't fix.

Let me know.

thanks Wayne, I worked on the switch today, cleaned the dumb bell, and glass bead blasted the inside contacts and I got the switch to work. so far I am about 1/2 way thru the rewiring process, the door switchs will pose the most problem since they are aftermarket switchs. At some point I will put the battery in and start to test every thing, one thing that bothers me is at the fuse box, the diagram shows 2 white wires on one side and 2 green on the other, so far so good but there is an addition white wire, in an earlier diagram it show 3 white wires one going to the fuel pump. not sure what do do with that on

Dang Hondo Wish this was done 12 years ago when I threw the original out.
Would have you fix that one for me.
