Spitfire '70 Spit MK3 - Is this stock?

See attached.

The circled bracket is where the trip odometer reset knob was mounted.

Is this stock?

Also in the lower left of the picture is what appears to be a turn signal flasher unit, but I also have one of these on the engine side of the fire wall. Is it for the turn signals?

The bracket is stock, but it appears to have been bent downward somewhat. Also, I'm not positive that it's mounted exactly as original.

To know for sure about the "flasher," I'd have to know what color wires are attached to it. That vintage of Spitfire would have had two different flashers, one for turn signals and another for the "hazard" flasher circuit. That unit in the picture, though, might also be for the key/door buzzer (although my fading memory won't tell me if this was something Triumph had in 1970).

Yes, the bracket is stock - although that one looks like its seen better days. It should be mounted under the dash (attached to the metal fascia) on the right hand side, out of the way of your knees, etc.

The can in the left corner of the picture is probably your flasher unit. It should have three connectors on the bottom. I don't understand the brown wire, though. Maybe that's just meant to hang it there. Normally that bracket at the top of the can is the mounting bolt hole, and the electrical connectors are on the bottom.

The unit under the hood may be your horn relay.

Turns out that the can in the picture is my flasher unit. The brown wire is the POs attempt to ground the cigar lighter.

Aha. Interesting approach and choice of colour.

Saw your post on the support bracket. Good news on bending it back.

Looks like you have an interesting project on your hands.

Yes it is an interesting project and even though I've really just started I'm having a lot of fun.

Other than the creative wiring I will need to straighten out, everything is pretty straight forward so far.
