I have one of the two eared distributors on my 69 TR6. Which one is the advance and which is the retard unit?

In the diagram here , the retard port is on the left.
 
Thanks Don and Randall. I looked throught my catalogs, but must have missed that page in Moss, Randall. I am still reading through the 10 pages from Buckeye Triumphs on tuning the carbs. I sure hope it goes faster than me trying to read and understand the directions.

The retard module is on the cockpit side, like all of them.

If you have any questions, just ask. The author of those great articles has moved on to other hobbies; but I'm sure the folks here at BCF can cover any issues that arise.

Well, yes and no ... the retard module does get vacuum at idle, but the vacuum comes from the carb. Not much help if you don't know which side of the distributor it should connect to.
