69 E Type Roadster Windscreen Trim

Anybody? I have a 69 E Type roadster and I'm trying to fit the piece of chrome that rides in the rubber moulding at the base of the windscreen. The windshield was installed without the strip and now it doesn't want to cooperate and stay on. I get one side on and the other pops out. We were very careful removing the trim but I guess it could be bent. OR: should the trim piece have been fitted to the rubber prior to the unit being installed?

Any help would be appreciated!

Steve

What you are trying to do is not easy and your dilemna is typical Try installing the lower trim prior to fitting to the car. Also some sealant in the right places could help the situation.
