'69 E-Type 2+2

Re: '69 E-Type 2+2 - What have I got?

Hi Andy,

The VIN is 1R41300 ... so I think a bit earlier than April '69?

It wasn't in xkedata (I just added it): is that surprising?

According to Porter's "Guide to Originality" it was probably built sometime in March, 1969, a few weeks before mine.

That it wasn't listed on XKE data is no big deal. The PO was probably unaware that it even existed.

Here is a book that you want to drop hints about as a Christmas gift (as if the thing in driveway wasn't one already):

Ebay link to book

I got my copy yesterday and couldn't put it down for hours.

I MUST have that book! Thanks for the pointer.

So how do the safety items look from underneath; structure, brakes, steering and suspension?

I haven't got it up in the air yet ... have been amusing myself with the electrics, gaining some confidence with the "feel" of the thing :yesnod:
