Hey Everyone!
First, I'd like to say thank you to all who reply to this topic!
I have a 67 XKE 2+2. I'm looking to do a NorthStar or a LS1 engine and trans conversion. The car is in fair shape, with few problems. I'll be having all the work done this time by someone else, to many projects at once. My question is that does anyone have a suggestion on where I should look or who to contact on doing this? Any websites that might have information on this conversion?? Any info at all would be a hugh help, thanks!
 
I think your idea to coonvert an E type to a Northstar transmission and engine is the most novel and interesting concept that I have ever encountered. You must be a very original thinker!! Before launching this project I would check into what is entailed in adapting the processers and ECUs involved in the Northstar system to an E type Jaguar. If you check my record on E type engine conversions, you will discover that I am a purist. But the novelty of a Northstar conversion has captured my imagination. I am sure that the project can be accomplished provided that there is space accomodation (without too much external lines). The ECU requirements will probably have a lot to do with who you should contract this out to. Best Regards and you have sparked my imagination. Jack Farrington
 
Why ruin a good vehicle when the Jag engine is as reliable as the modern engine, remember the XK enggine was made for over 40 years, unless you are making just for show.

Interesting swap. The Northstar has a following amongst the street rod crowd. I can not recommend anyone to do such a swap but if I were contemplating it myself, I would probably purchase some of the street rod magazines out there and use them for reference. I use to receive one that I think was called Street Rodder as it had lots of vendors' advertising and a fair amount of technical articles. I haven't visited that site in a while but you might be able to contact someone through it, or at least be further inspired by some of the photos.

The northstar I believe until this year..2004 was a transverse mounted engine along with automatic tranny.

I'd highly recommend a Chevy small block as its more powerful, lighter, less expensive and has transmissions available more easily for rwd.

Great idea though.
