TR4/4A 67 TR4a Gauge Question

I just noticed on my dash that I have a flat glass tachometer and a rounded speedo. Can anybody tell if this is normal or was one or the other switched out? If so, do you know which one was swapped?

Thanks!

I've been told the very early TR4s had rounded glass, just like the TR3s. The later had flat glass. So a TR4a should have flat glass.

Well you can easily replace the rounded glass with a flat glass lens. The speedo may be fine for your car... may even be the exact one. The (main) difference is that 4-digit number on the face that indicates how many times the cable revolves in a mile. Other minor differences are the look of the numerals on the odos and the painting of the redline.

The flat glass is available from the usual sources.

I think, but I'm not positive that in addition to the flat glass you may need to replace the bezel pieces (chrome outside and black internal piece) to get it back to normal - a broken donor speedo shouldn't be hard to find.
