66 Sprite Horn

Hello,
Can someone please tell me where the correct location for the horn, or is it horns. I have two in a box, one has a bolt threaded into the back and the other horn has a permanent bracket on the back about 3 inches long. The car has a after market steering wheel that I really like, where do most people put the horn button. Would like to keep it mostly original looking
Here is a picture of my Sprite in early Oct, it was the first time it moved under its own power in 25 years. The brakes etc are now working great onto everything else. That is me the proud owner for thirty years.

My horn button, just a small chrome push-button, is on the dash, right about at 2:00 o'clock to the steering wheel. Just a minor index finger shift to blast it!

Thanks Mike
any body help me with the horn or is it horns, location. see first post
also how do I make a picture fit

okay ... so let me take a stab at this .. i looked for some pictures and could not find any but ... i believe the 66 had two horns, a high and low tone horn. they are attached inside the front cowl section. i believe they were attached using a triangle bracket (see VB catalog item 9 in the horn section). the wider end attaches to either side of the cowl section with the single hole side attached to each horn. so two brackets and two horns mounted in the cowl section on opposite sides. the horn style is VB item 6 and 7. hope this helps.

Hi Fred,
just realized, a hard question to describe. Thank you. I am looking at the VB horn section the tri brackets look easy enough. The cowl section, is that the area behind the grill and in front of the radiator? Do you see the horns from the engine bay?
Thanks Phil

yes it's the front valance section between the fenders and in front of the radiator. there is a pit section just behind the grill and thats where they sit if you are looking at the front of the car, and then into the pit area, the brackets mount to opposite side near each fender. the brackets mount flat on top of the area on either side of the valance pit. a picture would do wonders. perhaps someone else has one. anyway lets keep talking until we get it. let me see if i can get a pic of my valance

found a picture in the haynes manual page 185. the horn are mounted to the single hole on the triangle bracket. the bracket is mounted like i stated earlier to the top edge of the valance pit area. the horns are mounted under that bracket and point towards the grill.

Fred I owe you a beer, there it is page 183 in my Haynes manual. Thanks again, now the search begins I wonder if I have the brackets in a box somewhere.
Phil

Well no luck finding the brackets, one horn has a bracket that is permanently attached to the horn, it is the correct shape just the wrong bracket. I guess I will order a couple from VB. I started to spool up this project in May, I told my wife it would be relatively cheap to restore since I already have most parts, was I wrong I think I am up to 4k and climbing. The good news is I see light.
