Great Pumpkin - R.I.P

In western North Carolina, on US 64, just east of Murphy, I spotted a beautiful white Tornado on the side of the road - for sale - $15,000 - 84,000 original miles...& it was absolutely beautiful!

The '66 was the best looking of the Toronados.
Very clean.Did you see what Jay Leno did with his?

*drool*...I think $15,000 is a little steep though. A friend of my moms gave her `66 Tornado away(FREE) it was in great shape too....Just wish I'd known about it earlier.

Yes, Jay Leno's is RWD. Very pretty car, but his is no longer a toronado. The distinction of the toronado was the FWD.

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/iagree.gif But who cares when it's got that much power!

And doesn't it also have chain drive?

I have a friend who has an old GMC motor home (the model that appeared in Stripes as the Urban Assault Vehicle) and it uses a Toronado engine & powertrain. They must be pretty robust.

The old Toronado would have used the old 425 transaxle, later, lightened and cheapened into the 325, and yes they did have a chain
