TR4/4A 65 TR-4 value

Hi All,
I'd like to solicit assistance w/ valuing Trs. I have a 65 TR4 and a 71 Spit to sell. Finishing a windshield install on the rebuilt Spit.
The 65 TR-4, restored in 1985. Current mileage 9942, no rust, new top, wire wheels, very clean, solid car, excellent interior, finished trunk. 2 small chips by rear pass-side wheel well. I added the TR-250 strip, but it is a TR4.

Thanks, Don

Very hard to throw a number out there based on the description and one photo but I would guess you're in the $12K to $18K neighborhood. But what do I know, I've only purchased 3 TRs in my life and none in the past 10 years.

When you say "Current mileage 9942..." what does that mean? Literally it sounds like the car has 9,942 miles on it but perhaps that's not right?

More pics and info on engine condition will yield better advice as the one photo you show looks intriguingly nice.

Don,

Selling all your Triumphs??

Whatever happened with those 2 TR4A's that were up your way?

Scott

I bought this TR4 from an Idaho friend who restored it in 1985, engine, trans, etc. I tried to load more pics, but could add only 1, so added another. The mileage is since that rebuild but I cannot doc it, since George died.

As for the TR4a's here - both sold to a restorer, went back to CA. Goodo, eh!

4 no quote.

Hard to tell without more pics but it seems nice. I'd give the same range Geo gave. If the interior is "immaculate," and the engine compartment clean and matching the exterior, and the front end solid with no frame rust or damage, maybe $20K,and possibly more if it comes across as stock, standard, well preserved example--250 stripe or not.

Thanks for the comments, and another photo & better description. Don

1965 TR-4 Current mileage shows 9942, no rust, new top, wire wheels, very clean, solid car, excellent interior, finished trunk. The car was restored in 1985, by lifetime TR fan George Gilhoover; he passed in 2008. Painted metallic navy blue, it is an authentic TR color. Story was Prince Charles in 1965 wanted a TR4, but did not like the color choices, so Triumph painted his and 50 others this metallic navy blue. This car orig was white, so this is a copy. Two small chips by rear pass-side wheel well. I added the TR-250 stripe, but it is a TR4.
