Yesterday my son bought a 65 1300 IH. It's a little rough but it's a driver, and it will make a great work pickup. This makes four generations of Binder owners in my family.

Great patina and the body looks really solid too. And check out your low gas prices!
I have a 65 Scout I need to bring back to life.....

very cool! I seriously crave that era Travelall.

Here's an ad for the International we had back in the early 1950s!

(that's not my parents - my mom always wore white gloves and a pearl necklace when she was in the kitchen ...)

Somewhere I have a photo of me helping my dad work on our 66 T'all when I was about four. I traveled all across the country in the back of that thing, and I'd love to find another one someday.

My uncle had a mid 70's travelall - and 7 or 8 kids. He lived in Vancouver so while his cars were always old and cheap they were always interesting. And because the Pacific North West, no rust. I remember bombing around in a 1965 (or so) Impala wagon (in 1974). A few years later we were in town for a cousin's wedding. I was assigned an Austin Marina (he had worked on it and forgot to put the reverse gate back in so I had to be VERY aware of my shifting. :D )

Coming back to the 1974 trip, we lived East of Toronto and took the train. (My father worked for the railroad so we had passes) In Vancouver my oldest cousin (I was 13) was car shopping, specifically for a Datsun 510 (which were desireable already) I had the most wonderful three weeks hanging out with cousins and exploring used car lots.

As a Labour Day Monday treat, these were the two songs I remember from the charts (over and over again)

I was the proud owner of a schoolbus-yellow '73 Scout in the late 90s. I really wanted to try popping the top off, until the day I realized that it was the only thing holding the entire lump together. No rocker panels at all, and the rubber mats were more solid than the floorboards.

A mentor kindly donated a new set of inner and outer rockers, but alas I had no way of welding them in.

great pic and I hope great memories!

JP, it really did. My son posted this picture of he and my granddaughter on Facebook, and I immediately had to go find that photo of me and my dad.

I’m late to this party, but that is a seriously cool truck your son has! Thanks for sharing, and wishing him (and family) many happy miles!
