65-69 Spridget seat Diaphragms

Moss does not offer the diaphragms for the seat bottoms for the 65-69 Spridget seats. Does anyone know if the later diaphragm webbing for the 70 and later models can be used instead?

I ordered the diaphragm from Mini Mania. When it arrived it was in Moss packaging which is fine with me. Glad MM had it since Moss listed it as unavailable. Installed it today. The final clips were a real pain until I picked up an 11 inch long reach hose jaw pliers from O'Reilly Auto Parts. Hooked a clip into the rubber diaphragm and then a second clip to that clip as something to pull on until the first clip lined up with the hole. Not a huge amount of effort and the clip slipped right on. You do have to link two clips on the front corners because the clips they send are not long enough.

I remember replacing my seat diaphragms in my '69. Yes, they were every bit as much of a pain to install as you described. I used the spring pulled that I had when I put together the backyard trampoline for my daughter.

Actually, my new Moss catalog shows the diaphragms as being available. These are much thicker than the old ones I pulled off of my old seats so they should hold up better.

Finally, rebuilt my seats. Actually, rebuilt a set of '66 seats and installed them in my '71 Arkley to replace the generic racing seats installed by the
the previous owner. They sat too high and had me looking over the windshield. The seats I rebuilt were in horrible shape. Sanded, painted, new fasteners and diaphragms. New foam and covers. Not a professional job but very pleased with the results. Much more comfortable and I now sit at the correct height.
