Does anyone know if anyone sells a replacement piece for the door frame rear section that holds the door latch piece. Mine are both fractured badly and need to be replaced. This is not on the door but on the rear panel.

Are you talking about the "B" post? For a '64? Victoria carries them

Nope- it isn't the right one /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif
On the '64 I have "pull-handles" and VB lists the same part number for '62 thru '72 but they are for the "push-button" doors. The early version doesn't list for Moss either.
Thanks anyway.

On a '62 MGB that I worked on several years ago (its # was 938, earliest one I ever saw), I rebuilt that area using some sheetmetal, trimmed to fit. I had to do some shaping, as I recall, for the recesses, but it wasn't difficult to repair.

If you do repair the existing panel, drill a small hole (1/8" is typical) at the end of each and every crack to eliminate the stress risers, otherwise the cracks can continue to grow after the welding reapairs.

If you were a bit closer, I'd offer to do it for you /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Thanks for the offer Randy but I think transporting it to Ohio just won't do!
