'63 Midget Update

Well, y'day when I was at the body shop we found the rust! Driver door frame is bad on the bottom curved corner. PO had done some repairs which were actually pretty well done....so, we're gonna pull it, strip it down to metal & do the repairs even better.

Appears the car was in an accident on the driver side...front fencer is bowed out in front of wheel well as if a tire blew (there's no sign of straightening on the underside) & the door has some bondo along the front edge & the rusted out part at the rear bottom of the frame.

& I've gotten rid of all my early doors!

Tony, I stopped by Shaneyfelts today and just missed you...I also left before Jack arrived so I missed him as well. Rick is a stand up guy and I really enjoyed talking to him and looking at your car. He showed me around and told me what to expect as far as restoring a BE. Thanks again for the tip and I hope to meet you guys someday. Rut

Tony... I have a pair of Sprite doors 62-63. They're in the shed behind a MOUNTAIN of snow. I'll try to get to them and send a pic. LMK if you find something first.

All Her Hidden Secrets Revealed...

...yep, somewhere in here life she's been involved in an accident on her driver front fender...allv the paint & bondo is now off & we're straightening everything so we'll not need all that bondo.

Also, she had a tiny bump in the passenger rear quarter...we'rer stripping everything off there to hammer & dolly the metal so, agaqin, no bondo is needed!!

Peter, Bill Thompson says he has some as well but needs to dig em out as well unless, just unless he can find one on the storage shelf.

Has a bit of surface rust and old paint, otherwise is perfect.

Yeah, well, still can't SEE the shed door much less get it open...... Calipers are rolling though.

Double HOO-RAH!!

My differential case is ready to power wash....my 3rd member is in the parts washer & almost ready to disassemble to replace all bearings & my driveshaft is shiny clean so I can replace the U-joints!!

Should have the entire new suspension - front & rear - ready when the body tub comes home

Tomorrow is rebuilding the rear brakes!!

(Oh, Jack, it snowed here today & has been down in the 30's & I'm out in the garage!!)
