A night to remember! We watched on TV, and I remember we could barely hear them, due to the excited screaming from the audience.

I didn't like them at first.
Too much hype and crowds drowning out the songs.
I took me a few years to appreciate the craftsmanship.
Once I started listening closer I was a big fan.
Same with Elvis, Didn't understand the hype.
 
I graduated high school summer the of 1963. I remember watching that very show on black and white TV at my then girlfriend's home. We were 17 & 18 at the time. They became a large part of the soundtrack of my early years. ...J.D.

My rock-n-roll exposure pre-dates the Beatles by about 10 yrs. [I'm an old guy]. I was the 3rd. of 4 kids. There was rock-n-roll in our house when I was in grade school. I never understood the screaming either. I do not idolize performers. Never have. I can do things they cannot do too. We all have our own talents. ...J.D.

I did too. My exposure was AM radio with Patsy Klein, the Jordan airs and then Rock 'n Roll with DoWop and then Soul music.
When the Beatles came on the scene they were hyped to the point where I turned them off, both on the radio and my mind.
After I started listening to more music, I realized how much more talented they were.
They actually opened my mind to their influences, like Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and too many others to list.
 
Screamers? like today's screamo (emo violence and hardcore punk), hardcore punk alone, and extreme heavy metal.

Orchid, Saetia, and Swing Kids, 100 Gecs, etc. Just guesstimating, but I'd think the audiences are using drugs a heck of a lot stronger than weed. Jeez - remember when we could go home from a concert, and remember what the song was about, and even sing or hum it?

I started listening to Punk with the Ramone's, Patty Smith and the Dead Kennedy's, all were artists with 'music' to back up their work.
As much as I try to listen to Rap or Hip Hop, it just never passes the Stink Test.
It's all just flash and trash to my ears, who knows how it will shake out in 20 years.
Disco still doesn't light my fire either.
 
And I *look* older than Keith Richards.

Not to nitpick,but it's Patsy Cline.One of the greatest singers of all times.
