Cruising E-Bay yesterday theres an MGA Coupe thats really sharp, and the seller claims that that year there were 600 some made...300 some for export and only 14 sent to the U.S. Does that sound correct?? Where would one look to get that info??

I frequented this site prior to the BCF. Lots of good info and people there.

Go to the MGA section and then MGA production. I went there last week with dreams of getting a coupe but you get dizzy looking at all the years, Engine options and types.

I think there's lots more than that over the entire coupe run - what 3 or 5 years?

The qty of 14 for No. American export is correct (according to Clausager's "Original MGA) for the 1961 1600 coupe. A further 156 1961 Mk II coupes were produced for NA export.
In any case a rare car, even including both types. MGA coupe production had tapered off dramatically by the time '61 rolled around.

Never mind. The VIN number I suppose. 87626 should have put it as produced somewhere between Dec '59 (82749) and March '60 (88844), which one would assume would make it a '60 in all probability

It shows the build tag..and mine isn't anywheres near his...you'd think it would be. Mine is HMR43/35662. Either way I don't plan on selling it till its at least as correct as I can make it. Over the winter I plan on having all the body and mechanical work done and stockpile all the parts I need to reassemble it.
