60 Sprite for $165,000

Someone a while back said it was a misprint, and should be $16,500, but it's been there for quite a while. You think if it was a misprint they would change it by now.

Sad thing is someone will buy it just because it is a high price, and people will think it's worth it.

I also noticed a FIAT Dino with Ferrari badges on it. It was a real Ferrari Dino, they would be 80-100k low on the price. At least they didn't try to pass it off as a Ferrari. Makes me want to see if it's someone who doesn't know what they have though!

Boy I will accept 150K for Miss Agatha.

I got a deal for you, one Tunebug for only $149,000! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

WELL, and 100K back to ya, lol.

This appears to be the same one that's on sale on eBay right now, item no. 160069987666. Currently it's at $6600. Seems to have a way to go to reach 165K.

Seems nice, except that the plum interior really doesn't go with the red exterior.

Alright, how about a fixer-upper for a mere $80,000! Such a deal! At $165,000 I hope it also comes with a certain bridge I have heard is for sale on and off over the years!

Ps: 10 musketeer, there is no such thing as a FERRARRI Dino, it was just a DINO (built by Ferrarri), and for all intents and purposes was virtually the same car as the Fiat!

In the late 1970s one of my colleagues at IBM did something so cool that IBM gave him an outrageous award something like 5x his annual salary.

He went out and bought a Ferrari Dino, and it was his daily driver, parked in the IBM car park every day along with all the Ford Escorts and Minis and 1100s that the rest of us still had.

It looked like this:

John,

Do ya really want an answer to the misprint question? If so, go to:

Golden Classics Web Site

On the top of this page you will find the exact car with the exact stock number (1912) as in the Collector Car Trader Online ad referenced at the top of this thread.

The car is still listed there for $16,500.00 and evidently someone has bought it as it is also labeled "Sold."

That's pure automotive beauty, Chris. I love those Dinos. I think they're the best looking mid-engine car. Period.

Of course, you are right! Memory fails me sometimes. It was the powerplants that were the same and not the whole car! Nevertheless, the Ferrari version was the only Ferrari not to bear a Ferrari badge! Enzo hoped to start a model name to commemorate the tragic loss of his son with the Dino.
