Just got a replacement 6 blade fan for my '71. The one in there has half a blade missing.
The guy I bought it from painted it gray. What is the correct coloUr for this fan?
Safety yellow works well. I've been told that the particularly bright yellow used on certain year 2000 Nissan trucks and SUVs is closer... but who wants to buy a pint of special mixed paint just for the fan?
I try to do something to it whenever I have a day off Kenny. Put that on today, then got carried away and stripped ALL the chrome off the GT and started sanding the areas. I had planned on doing the tape and paint method, but guess I had a change of mind. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
It does set off the engine bay though.. doesn't it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Rust-Oleum "Sunburst Yellow" # 7747. Proper color and you can buy it almost anywhere. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif PJ
Are my eyes goofy or is that a reverse fan? I don't see the knotched tips on the blades either. Hmmmm. Is that a "B" fan, or off of something else? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif PJ

Nope.. Goes the same way and the blades are bent the same way. It just doesn't have the notches out of the tips as you mentioned, but it sure throws a lot more wind out.
I would assume it is a B fan, if not.. it fits exactly like the other.
Hay Doc. what engine is that? You see that lower generator tensioner peice with the slot in it. I have one of those, of course I don't have the Bugeye one that is about 6 inchs or so long.
"race car" influence Paul. It'd never pass FAA inspection /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif
It's Herself's MGB engine, Jack. Now running, albiet not yet on the road... I gotta send Tony some sheckles fer poly-bushings and some other 'stuff' yet.
was about to say, more than aircraft do that sort of thing for fastener security. While I was in the Marines we secured every nut, bolt, and screw on the equipment that I repaired in the same way... especially if we didn't want ground pounders going into those areas. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
