In the owner's manual for my 50 Ford, it says 30WT normal, 20WT winter, but sub-freezing you add kerosene to the oil (specific amounts).
Never tried it.
 
Always liked a 50 Ford. Preferably 2 door. My dad, when growing up on the farm, used to light a bushel basket of corn cobs and set that under the crankcase of whatever they needed to get running in the winter!!

I think I have attached a photo. I bought this in January of 1970, still drive it, altho no longer does it have the bias-ply wide whites installed. Over a half million miles.

Yeah, and them buggers leak and use more oil than any LBC you'll ever see! Last one I was on, #2 was COATING the top of the nacelle and wing solid black. Good thing they've got a 30 gallon reserve!
 
That one is Sentimental Journey. Buddy worked at the Lazy B, and we went down to have a look, and for some odd reason absolutely NOBODY was parked in the parking area in front of the aircraft. So we did, snapped a film picture to prove we were there. Wife has an 8X10 framed of this in the front room.
