59 Bugeye. . .Thinking of Selling

I have not posted in a long time. I have been busy with life. As a result, i am thinking of selling the Bugeye. I just dont have the time/money to put into a proper restore. I would love to sell it to a true enthusiast.

Anyway, i thought i had seen in the past bugeyes selling in the $5k range. Is that still the case? What would a good selling price be for mine. Pictures are below and at the links below. It has not run since 1990. It obviously needs a lot of work. THat is why i am asking this group of people with way more knowledge than I. Thanks for any input and hopefully this is in the right location.

I think my plan would be to sell this and buy a turbo'd miata that i can tinker with and still drive it righta away.

Is that the worst rust or is it about what's found in other places on the body?

that is similar to what is found at other spots. i think all the wheel wells are similar. the floor is not in that good of shape. i cant speak for the rest though. But the wheel wells and floor are the worst and similar to the picture.

Think of it this way.

6 or 7K to repair the rust and paint after everything is removed and it is a tub. Plus all new everything, engine and engine systems rebuild 1.5K, suspension, etc, etc, 2 or 3K. Now we are up to at least 10K or so to put it in good shape.

Soooooooo.......... 2K outside????????????

Again a non running project that needs lots of work. All depends on engine condition as well. $25k for a Concours at Jackson Barrett with way over inflated prices. I'm thinking Jack is pretty close on price/value.

youll get more if u get it started....
shouldnt take much if its all
together.......
im no BE expert but as is ....$2500.

Well it looks like i need to lower my money expectations. Which is fine. I just want to sell to someone who is a true enthusiast. I thought i was, but i guess i am not 100% dedicated. You guys have been help. I think i will try to sell locally 1st. Start high and go from there.
