Hi all hey I have a friend that has a 59 bugeye project with tons of extra parts, wheels, seats gauges ect.body is in good shape, very little to no rust. I know that sounds to good to be true, but even the bonnet looks good. engine is a 948 ,short block has been rebuilt, head is done and not installed yet. Smooth case trans in good shape.says he has all parts, plus a ton of other parts to go with. price is 3000.What do you guys think, good deal or what? let me know Joel

Tell "him" I'll give 'im $500.

$3000 is not a bad price if it is truly a solid car, but I'd take an ice pick to it. If your able to punch a bunch of holes, then you better talk him down to about $1800

Now there's a negotiating tactic for ya! Punch a bunch of holes in it and say, "HEY, this thing has a bunch of holes in it!!!!!"

If that doesn't work, be sure to bring a baseball bat.

If he is so sure it is "solid", an ice pick will do no serious damage to a project car. ... I have my doubts.

I know Trev, just pickin'.

( o.k, where's the rim shot button?)

+1

Solid car, all parts, 3K is not bad at all.

I paid $3500.00 for a driver. when it arrived at the house and started probing it became a total rebuild.
From what I have learned there are three types of Bugeyes

1) Restored car with Documentation
2) Cars that claim to have been restored years ago and are in good condition.
But in fact had bondo/paint job that are hiding rust everwhere listed in #3
3)Project cars, that will need extensive rust repairs in spring box area (hidden rust)and floors, and A post and sills, and fender extentions,and.....

If you come near Miss Agatha with an Ice Pick you are history. LOL
