Box - Your '57 TR3 looks like it's going to be a winner. Super !

The repro rear fenders are too long from the rear wheel cut-out to the bottom rear corner below the tail-light. As a result, the short stainless steel trim that goes fron the tail light down to the bottom corner is too straight. This should have a nice curve down to the bottom corner.

I have seen these on a restored TR and they are so easy to spot when you look at them.

...Don, by cracky...I do believe you are correct. Good eye. How do they get the bottom of the fender to align with the rear apron, the ole push/pull bit?

From the lower bolt holding the rear bumperettes, the rear valance has to be modified with new sheetmetal MIG welded into place. But I think that most likely the body man would add about 1/2" of Bondo the fill the gap and give it a smooth (but incorrect) contour.

Hi Don,

So, let me make sure I understand this correctly.

The "CURVE" that you had referred to is on the "REAR FENDERS"; Not the "SILLS" or the "DOOR", Correct?

If this is correct; You certainly do have a very keen eye & are 110% correct!!!

Both the tail of the rear fenders and also the door sills should have curves. The curves on the outer door sill are almost zero. You can only detect if a new outer sill is not contoured to match the bottom of the door if the sill appears to be inside about half way alon the sill.

The retro rear fenders are incorrect as described above. If you stand about a foot to the rear of the TR above the rear tail-light, and you look straight down, you can't see the bottom of the curve on a correct or original rear fender curve because the curve sweeps down and under towards the front of the car. When you stand over one of the repro rear fenders you can see the bottom because it is straighter and not curved as much.

Here`s a New AM up-date:

($20.5K / 1-1/2 days to go / 22 bids & 13 bidders).

Man, It looks like someone is going to get a sweet deal.

The seller (Who apparently is selling this TR for someone else) has turned down $22K (Thats not me)!

I would love to offer him $25K but as usual; I`m only short $24.9K.

Who out there would love to give me a "Long Term" / "Any Interest" / "$0.00 down" loan to buy this TR??

Who out there would like to buy a really nice house "CHEAP" in NE PA???? The "Gaming Casino" is only 20min. drive away!

Actually, I`m supposed to be getting an offer on the house & "IF" time & $$$ permit; I just may have a shot at this!!

Maybe I`ll get lucky & the Reserve won`t be met (LOL). He`s only 1-1/2hr. drive away from me! If this rain ever decides to stop; I`d take a ride out to personally view this pcs. of Artwork!

I`ll be at some "Vintage Car Races" today @ Pocono Raceway (Weather Permitting) so, I won`t be watching this auction till later.

Back from a great day @ the "Vintage Car Races" @ Pocono Raceway.

Lots of LBCs. Austin Healeys, MGAs, MG-T Series, Spridgets, Turners and a ton of Porsches. "NOT A SINGLE TRIUMPH"???

The current stats on the ebay TR3:

$20.9K and 1 day to go.

I just noticed that this is a "NO RESERVE" auction!

A friend of mine made an inquiry for a "Buy It Now" cost & the seller said that he had turned down $26K?????

If in fact he did that; Did he make a mistake???

Only 1 more day will tell.

What do you people think it`ll reach?

I feel $25-$27K will get it.
