'56 BN2 prep for start - up after 15yr. nap

Hi all,
I recently finished cleaning, carb rebuild, new plugs, oil changes etc. I think it's ready for a battery and cranking over in a start up attempt. Can somebody explain negative ground and the sort of things to be aware of during initial heat cycle? My plan is to install battery, get running till hot and change oil again, looking for lil pieces, check charging, radiator flush again, check compression and possibly a leak down. Any advice please? Which problem(s) will I most likely need to rectify first?

Negative ground is - well negative ground from the battery. If no one has changed your car in the past it should be the plus side of the battery grounded to the frame. All cars now are negative ground. It changed sometime in the 1960's if I recall - late '60's.

I can't think of much more than what you have listed. Just make sure your temp. gauge and oil gauge are working. Thermostat OK? Stuck? There? I assume gas tank has been cleaned out?
