With a some great help from the BCF, we have the parts ID for the braking system on my old car. Seems they were of TD origin.
I need to replace the tie rod ends also, so if you can help me identify these it would be very helpful.

The number on the casting is J3545/S

The rack seems to be in good shape, there is some play in one of he inner joints, I assume I can take it out with shims same as my TR.
 
Mark - That is a very old tie rod end that is no longer available and even if it were, you wouldn't want it - there was a no longer available, replaceable grease seal. You should be able to use a standard TD tie rod end. The thread will be BSF. What kind of "Old sports car" are we talking about?
 
Give me some dimensions...it looks surprising like an early Midget tie rod end (except for the offset)
 
Once again, thank you very much for your help with my project. Dave, I visited your website several days ago, some good info there. Of particular interest to me was the article on cooling system. I don't have any Whitworth wrenches, but like most I am sure, I blunder through with my US and metric sets.
 
Mark - I suggest you don't muddle too much. Whitworth / BSF wrenches are still available and will do a much better job, especially on the smaller sizes.
