$50 tow kit

And just my luck - I ordered a trailer hitch setup on Wednesday !!

Tx-

George

Wouldn't take much to modify it to fit a Midget!

haha, maybe...ive been working on
the car instead of driving it....
not sure of its trippabilty!
i still have a clutch prob....
it works but then quits right away...
im thinkin slave or master cylinder ......z

I've got one of those. Used it to pull the midget all the way from Melbourne, FL to Dayton, OH. To attach it to the car, I bought a piece of 2x3 inch steel tubing, and drilled the appropriate holes to mount the tubing to the bumper mounts. Then simply attach the tow bar to the tubing.

Worked great! Can take a picture of the tubing I used if you would like.

Interesting to hear how this worked out. Similar tow bars are for sale all over eBay, and I once toyed with the idea of doing very much what you describe. Might do it yet.

and I presume you disconnect the drive shaft? do you remove it completely or just disconnect one end and hang it out of the way?

Hang it out of the way. Think I used a coat hanger in fact.

id feel more comfortable pulling
the midget to missouri since i
wont get alot of test drive time
in before then........
u guys can fix any problems left with
my car when i get there
there will be a work area, right?
ive got tools! haha ...zimmmy

May be both of us in that area, zimmy!

Just enter them in the trouble-shooting contest, guys!! :jester:

You bring the parts and it will get done.

I am seriously considering trailering mine. Its just the howling wind noise on the interstate and stuff that I know that my wife will not want to put up with for the drive there in back to the tune of 1600 miles.

My wife is going with me in the Ugly Bug. She'll complain about the noise and the wind, but it builds character.

That's what the howling and the wind noise are for!!! They were built in to these cars to drown out the complaints from the passenger seat!! :jester:

Zimmy at 5000 rpms I'd be doing 100+ mph!
