TR2/3/3A 5 speed Toyota transmissions in a TR3

Recently, there was a thread about 5 speed Toyota transmissions adapted to a TR3. I can't seem to find it.

My TR3 just came out of the shop 250 miles ago after rebuilding the transmission due to a broken thrust bearing and missing tooth that made itself evident in first and reverse.

Now the noise is back, first and reverse again. VERY frustrating (and expensive) to say the least.

I am at the point of considering a Toyota 5 speed. Any comments, pro or con? Resources? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cryin.gif

gsalt57tr3, we have been using them in the big Healeys for years I would go for the one suggested sans the hydraulic throw out bearing. Great improvement ---Fwiw---Keoke

Just checked on a price quote, be prepared to pay out $1485.00 for the conversion kit.
