5 speed? Rivergate?

I'll bet that the son just assumes that if it is a stick shift that it is a 5 speed. Most younger folk's are unaware that transmission's were ever made with less than 5. Still worth the look.

Kurt.

I spoke to John yesterday and his description sounds like an early 5 speed with reverse up and left and first down and left. He doesn't know if it's a Rivergate, but that's my guess.

Wish that was near me, would be hand to have for parts and a spare 5-speed.

I wish it were closer to me too...

I doubt it's a 5 speed too, if it's not running, how does he know where reverse is? I'm interested but that's a 4 hour round trip for "maybe" a five speed. Did he say it had an aluminum adapter plate?

Maybe if you call him he would take pictures of specific things and email them to you, that's what I'd ask him if it were me.

I asked him to send pictures and he said he would Saturday. I'll post them when they come in.

Billy,
Go for it, I'm pretty well equipped and low on budget $.

me too but you know how I am....

What I really need is a NICE acoustic guitar but I'm having trouble spending the $$$. Funny how I can see dropping $1500 on a rifle I want that I'll never use but $800 on a guitar I can attempt to play every day seems ridiculous. I guess it comes down to knockdown power. You can only hit a threat over the head with a guitar so hard no matter how much it costs.:friendly_wink:

I've regretted spending money on many things, but *never* on a nice guitar. Admittedly mine are working tools but still, a good guitar will last a lifetime.

Got the pictures today and it's a $100 parts car, no 5 speed.

A friend of mine just got one of these.
I was shocked at how well made and set up it was out of the box. Sounds good too.
Quality like this has never before been seen at this price point.
