Pedro..........may that name finally come to rest in peace on this forum in 2009.
Did something happen to Dale ?

Yes, sadly- Dale is no longer with us.
He died as he lived - to the max, on the edge.

One of the local fisherman reported seeing Dale and Amos
about 30 miles offshore trolling for Mahi. A nice Mahi
was being fought when suddenly a Great White shark
swollowed the Mahi whole and Dale and Amos disappeared
down a whirlpool with the Great White.

That would make a great movie. Al Pachino plays Dale.

I personally pictured George Clooney in that role. And probably Julia Roberts as supporting actress.

The more I think about this, I'd like to see Richard Dryfus and his bikini clad assistant Seygourney Weaver sail to PR to investigate another Shark attack, only to discover it was a guy named Pedro a former classic car restorer who actually trained the shark to attack and eat Dale.
Pedro went to the really dark side after his classic car restoration business was ruined by Dale and some Canadian guys who smeared his reputation on the island.
After further investigation it was also discovered that Pedro was actually a Cuban KGB agent who fled Cuba after the Soviet Union collapsed, but he knew every trick in the book regarding sabotage and hypnosis.
The plot get's really thick when Pedro disappears with a "list". The List contained the names of the members of a certain orginization that supported Dale's efforts to smear Pedro, ruin his life and disclose his true idenity.
It really becomes an international thriller.Dead car entheusist from Florida to British Columbia ending in the frozen Norwegian woods with a thrilling snow mobile chase with Sorgourney Weaver as the sole survivor of the ordeal.

This is getting better by the minute. The screenplays are being written as we move forward from thread to thread.

Head on over to the latest diagnostic thread and lend some humor to that dark world before Dale drops the pan and replaces the thrust washers to fix an intermittent hesitation at 2500-3000rpms.

Okay, Rego. A keyboard ~AND~ a new set of underwear. I'll PM my addy.

*sheesh*

...and no Pedro Kinder Gentler Bolshevic seekret agent is gonna get th' drop on *ME* baby. I gots protection! Neighborhood fulla ten year olds on skateboards! Vicious li'l KILLERS, every one of 'em!

That explains Pedro's lousy restoration work, and why his amphibian version of Amos looks a bit DIY and somewhat inferior to James Bond's Lotus. And why he rewired and fitted every car he worked on with remote controlled explosives.
But I picture the final scene with Ms Weaver on a polar bear rug by the fireplace in a mountain lodge, sipping something bubbly with our hero, with Pedro stuck to the handbars of his snowmobile on the bottom of a frozen lake.

I can picture the polar bear rug scene alright, but if the hero is Dale, well we had him eaten alive by the hypnotized great white shark in the first act. So maybe Ms Weaver did manage to save one of the members on the "list". The Norwegian guy. Who, for this scene, will be portrayed by a stand in..."poolboy".

Hey!!!!

Please tell me how I'll meet my demise, so I can prepare myself.
And, will this happen in winter (attack of the killer snowstorm), or summer (attack of the killer bikini)

Guys, I just gotta know!!

Dave :driving:

P.S. planning on my escape as we speak

Let's just say you are leaving a Stanley Cup game when the unexpected happens, but you were a happy guy up till then.

poolboy;

Wow, a Stanley Cup game?
I haven't been to one of those since 1975 in Buffalo. I'll take it!

This might not be such a bad thing after all

Dave

I'll vote for getting whacked while I'm Pit crewing for Nial at Watkins Glen vintage(good racing scenes).... Pedro jumps out of the shadows and shoves me in front of the group 44 TR6 as it enters pit lane. how's that for irony?
Of coure I have to agree with Doc. I highly doubt Pedro would get the better of him.

Think "Flying Monkeys", Ben...

OK guys. All this wizard of Oz stuff is making me think your referring to my being SHORT (read munchkin)

I'm a little hurt, but send the playoff tickets, and I'll get over it!

Dave

Dave, I think it has more to do with my TR6
ever becoming repaired and reliable as a Wizzard of Oz fantasy.

I think it is the car, its need for constant attention, and the challenge it presents that is keeping you alive.

Stay with it.
