TR2/3/3A 5/16 inline fuel filter?

I have a fuel filter near my electric fuel pump but recently picked up a nice chrome and glass inline filter that I thought I would put somewhere under the hood to catch any other crap before the fuel gets to the carbs. Is 5/16 diameter going to restrict the flow or am I worrying about nothing?

Isn't 5/16" the diameter of the line to the original fuel pump... and 1/4" the size of the hard & soft lines from that pump to the carbs?

IOW -- I think 5/16" is fine if you feel you need another filter.

I agree. I use a paper element filter with 1/4" fittings just before the carbs. But of course any filter can get clogged up and limit fuel delivery.

However, make sure the chrome part is actually metal. A friend of mine found one at FLAPS where it was chromed plastic, and the plastic broke in service. Dumped fuel all over the place, plus disabled the car.
