3rd Brake light - windscreen ideas for roll bar??

Re: 3rd Brake light - windscreen ideas for roll ba

Paul - I'm hoping to get it back in a couple of weeks now.
The engine shop pretty much has the engine together - head and short block are done - it needs to have the flywheel/pressure plate balanced, and then its off to the engine dyno to get run in.

After that it goes back in and I get it back. Of course the speed everything else has taken, that two weeks might become six...

Re: 3rd Brake light - windscreen ideas for roll ba

I found a source in CT that may be able to do the mesh screen with a nice custom metal frame. I'm taking the roll bar in to show him on Thursday.

More to follow....

Mark, thanks for the tip and link!

My roll bar is going in on Monday. I was going to do it at home, but decided against since I want it in right and to do that (easily) you need a lift, so the body shop is going to handle it.

Any suggestions for a built on windscreen and third brake light? I want to install them before I have padding made so the pads will be made to fit the light and windscreen.

Someone here posted some great pics of cars with both awhile back, but I can't find them.

Stumbled across this post sourcing mesh windscreen for another TR6 owner. Probably after the fact figure you already have mesh windscreen with l.e.d. 3rd brake light with the attention to detail and workmanship you maintain know you're not interested in the jc whitney after market add on look of plexiglass windscreens. Personally tried several DIY mesh screen versions before availability of mesh for TR6 some didn't allow enough airflow others look too odd for my taste eventually got 4X4 piece metal screen from Lowe's bigger holes for air flow & still cut down on headlight glare from rear DIY paint snap tied to roll bar not happy with look took idea/design to body shop to fine tune they made it removable fit centered inside rollbar held in by 6 small nut/bolt (2 each side 2 cross the top) to small weld tabs for years had small 3rd brake light from auto parts hanging from bottom of roll bar 22 yrs ago had same body shop cut slit for 12" l.e.d. both match the aesthetics of my TR6. Not savvy on posting pics so see links below
