TR6 $38,000 and counting TR6

Some things and some prices just can't be justified or reduced (to a spouse or any other sane person).

For example, I took my bumpers, which were in decent shape to start with, in for rechroming. I wanted it done locally and by a shop that I could trust as well as being sure that I got my original bumpers back. For the job to be done correctly, with the triple plate and polish process, it will be nearly $1200.

That's crazy, but what are we to do? Anyone restoring a car has the same problems and any future processes involving hazardous chemicals will only get worse, so I bit the bullet and got it done. Watch what happens to paint and body work in the future.

Totally rusted TR6 front license frames are going for $200 on ebay. I bought a spare for $50 locally and had it rechromed for $150. Crazy yes, but it's beautiful and I'll sell it for a lot more, if I ever decide to do so.

Now if I can just figure a way to justify those new Dayton wire wheels and the tri-carb setup, I'll be a happy camper. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I never add anything up, so I wouldn't know. Nor do I want know, either. And I especially don't need my wife to know.

But I have a rough idea...

...and it is pretty rough, too. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif
