'37 Aston

This was a treat last Saturday. We drooled all over this 1937 Aston Martin 15/98 swb drophead. Siblings inherited the car and are considering their options. It looks pretty sad, but everything is there, and enough remains to make patterns. Still, it'll be a six digit restoration. Hope they follow through with it.

Indeed...although there's much to be said (at least in my own mind) for making it roadworthy, cleaning and polishing, and redoing only the minimum necessary (like seats and weather equipment) -- and then ENJOYING it! Once that six-figure restoration is complete, chances are no one will ever drive it again.

BTW, Paul... Izzat a Merc "RedHead" outboard engine beside it? THAT is also a bit of a rarity, y'know.

Good eye - and it is. The lady said she was going to throw it away, and all three of us started yelling. Pointed a boat friend toward it, and looks like he's going to grab it.

I should hope so! Glad it didn't go for a chop!

I want!

Hello Paul,

"Still, it'll be a six digit restoration.", that is a lot of money? The car doesn't look too bad from the picture, what needs doing?
I restored a DB5 about twenty years ago and spent nothing like that sort of money (and that included a brand new block\pistons\liners)

Good luck with it.

Alec
